Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. Heb. 11:1
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Heb. 11:6
And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Heb.11:32-34
A good question might be if faith in serving God and his leading stopped with the Old Testament. 😊 Of course not is the answer! Faith is not a guarantee of a long, healthy, trouble-free life, but a promise of extraordinary “ALIVE LIFE” in following him with the life we have. God is the same God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow and our faith really does become ALIVE when we follow him when we don’t have the answers of what tomorrow will bring.
This month we celebrate God’s work through ALL missions and Christians who earnestly seek him and confidently believe in HIS faithful provision in our carrying out his perfect plan and purposes in this world.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever. –Psalm 146:6
God has directed us and CHILE MISSION at every turn through our years in Chile and we are SO grateful! We are also SO grateful for your prayers! God loves to receive prayers lifted in faith so that he can be honored as the answer to those prayers. He is faithful!
Here below are some of the major things that God is putting in place in these immediate months:
- The sending of a second shipping container to Chile for the Camp. Its contents will include 50 more mattresses, oak church pews (for our covered open-air chapel) and quite possibly industrial kitchen items. We also continue to pray for the opportunity to locate and purchase stainless steel counters and other major equipment for the camp’s dining hall.
- We are investigating the possible acquisition of a medium-sized bulldozer in Chile and in the Midwest. It will prove to be a valuable addition to our excavator and skid steer tractor in our clearing of land and in our putting in more interior roads within the camp property. Should we purchase it in the States, the prayer is to include it inside of this next container.
Thank you for praying with us for the above faith-based steps!
We arrive in Santiago on October 1st and have several appointments, issues, and goals to tackle while there as mentioned in this past month’s letter. (You can scroll down from this update letter to also view September’s prayer needs. 😊) The two most important things on the docket have to do with the planning forward of hosting our first summer day camps for area children in January & February (your summer months) and the opening of a MISIÓN CHILE checking account for the Foundation.
In addition to what’s mentioned in that 5-point list, we will be purchasing wood and other needed construction materials in constructing the office/apartment inside of the maintenance building. Abraham and Cesar have made amazing progress in finishing welding the metal interior of the building, complete with a second-floor and storage area for materials, etc. and stairs to reach it. They are incredible, capable workers!! Here are some photos of their work:

In addition to all of the above, Jack hopes to have three implants and crowns completed while in Santiago. We also appreciate your prayers for the outcome of what looks to be a biopsy of his prostate during October in Chile. His PSA blood draw level was quite elevated from that of 2025. As always, God keeps track of our health as well as his work through CHILE MISSION.
SANTIAGO While trying to schedule the surgery to remove the tumor from Rodrigo’s kidney (mentioned in several of our monthly prayer updates), his doctors had sent him home to southern Chile, but recently had him come back to Santiago. While we don’t still have a date for that surgery it appears imminent, for which we are all grateful. He’s been through quite an ordeal, including last year’s surgery regarding his larynx cancer and the spreading of his cancer.
As always, your accompanying prayers for Rodrigo and others staying at our mission refuge house are greatly appreciated! Each person’s circumstance is different, and we know that God loves and cares about each and every one of them and wants each to know his Son Jesus.
ICOM IN NOVEMBER YES, IT’S TIME TO COME ENCOURAGED AND EQUIPPED AT ICOM AGAIN!! It will be held in St. Louis at the convention center from Thursday afternoon Nov. 12 through to Saturday night Nov. 14. We will be there as always with our CHILE MISSION booth (and our huge variety of CHILE-MADE MARBLE FIGURES 😊), not to mention the excellent speakers and workshops and other many missions and missionaries! Your church may very well be a yearly sponsor, meaning that there is no cost to attend. Teens have their own SICOM at the same conference with their own music, speakers, workshops, and 2-day mission project. There are also activities and care available for children. ICOM IS GOD “IN MOTION”!! Please pray with us for more individuals and churches to attend—maybe even for the first time!

WE ARE STILL PRAYING FOR: A “web-savvy” person to help us improve our marble people sales website (marblepeople.com) and give it exposure on various social media sites. REALLY, we really need the help!! 😊 Call us at 949-394-8282 or email us at chilemission1@gmail.com
Blessings to you all with a BIG THANK YOU for your CHILE MISSION prayer partnership!!
Rejoicing, praying, giving thanks and BEING FAITHFUL to our One True “FAITHFUL” GOD,
